Sweetpotato Ketchup

Sweetpotato Ketchup is a flavorful twist on a classic condiment, blending smooth sweetpotato puree with warm spices and a hint of heat. Lightly sweet and balanced, this homemade ketchup is great for dipping fries, on burgers, or adding a unique touch to your favorite snacks.

Ingredients
  

  • Cup sweetpotato puree (cooked and mashed)
  • ¾ Cup water
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp gelatin (*agar may be used as a vegan option)

Instructions
 

  • Mix the sugar and gelatin in a bowl and add all remaining ingredients to a saucepan.
  • Boil the mixture on a medium heat and keep stirring until it’s boiling. Once it’s reached boiling point, add the gelatin and sugar.
  • Boil for a further minute then pour the ketchup mix into a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap.
  • Keep in the fridge until set and then blend at high speed until the mixture is smooth.
  • Once blended, it is ready to serve.
