Don’t Fry the Fry

spfs-1-sweet-potato-fries-with-blue-cheeseWhen it comes to sweetpotato fries, crispy perfection is what we strive for! To our surprise, we’ve found that many fry-lovers still believe their beloved fry must be fried to be delicious. With a name derived from the oil-laden process of frying, we understand the confusion. Well we’re here to tell ya’ll that you can achieve crispy, crunchy bites of sweetpotato fry heaven simply through baking.

Today, more and more consumers are making health and nutrition a priority when making food choices. Ordering a side of fries used to be synonymous with falling off the healthy bandwagon followed with shame & remorse. With baked sweetpotato fries, you can still feel good about diving deep into a hot, crispy batch without a side order of guilt.

Here are our secrets to crispy sweetpotato fry perfection:

  • Cut your sweetpotato into matchsticks
  • Toss sweetpotatoes with oil, flour and salt until well-coated
  • Spread sweetpotatoes in a single layer on racks or foil without crowding. For extra crispiness, we recommend using a metal rack on each baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400°F until crisp, about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
