A Sweet Way to Celebrate #NationalDessertDay
The big day is finally here y’all! No, we’re not talking about Thanksgiving or Christmas, we’re talking about National Dessert Day! October 14th is the one day of the year to celebrate all things sweet, and we honestly couldn’t think of a better way to do that than with sweetpotatoes. Whether you like them more traditional in a pie or given a bit of a flare with ice cream (see what we did there?), sweetpotatoes are the perfect treat for everyone. So go on, give in to that sweet tooth with some of our favorite recipes!
Sweetpotato Cheesecake Brownies
We all love cheesecake, we all love brownies, so of course it makes sense we put them together in one delicious recipe! The sweetpotato adds creaminess to the cheesecake and makes these brownies a rich and delightful treat. Did we mention the orange and black are just perfect for Halloween too?
Sweetpotato Ice Cream with Candied Pecans
It may be getting colder, but that’s no reason to give up ice cream! #NationalDessertDay means showing some love to every kind of sweet. I’m Bored, Let’s Go blog has put a fall twist on a typically summertime treat by adding cinnamon, nutmeg and even bourbon. And we, of course, can’t forget about that ooey gooey marshmallow fluff topping.
Sweetpotato Pie with Coconut Milk
Maybe you’re more of a traditionalist when it comes to dessert, and that’s okay! This sweetpotato pie has all of the classic flavors with a little bit of a twist. Stranded on the Island adds coconut milk for a fun (and yummy!) take on a Southern favorite, plus the leaf crust makes it too perfect for fall.
