The North Carolina Sweetpotato Commission is committed to staying current with the nutrition guidelines set forth by the USDA and the overall health of our student population. The Commission’s mission is to increase consumption of this nutritiously dense superfood, and we take that charge seriously. By introducing this orange root in school lunchrooms across the U.S. we are encouraging healthy eating habits and in many cases providing the most nutrition a child will receive all day.
We continue to work with registered dietitians and universities to create flavorful, cost-effective meals that students of all ages and cultures will enjoy.
