Hey y’all! It’s almost summer – and we are getting exciting. Maybe you’ve only enjoyed sweetpotatoes in the colder months, as a baked tater or in a casserole. Well, you are missing out! We want you to know that sweet taters are just as delicious in fresh summer dishes, like our Spicy Sweetpotato Slaw or Shaved Brussels Sprouts and Sweetpotato Salad.

So, we’re hosting an Instagram Contest and it’s all about summer! Whether it’s sweet shades by the pool or sweet taters at the dinner table, Instagram a pic of how you’re celebrating the arrival of summer and you could win a sweet tater picnic gift basket with a $100 gift card! Now until May 28th, tag @Sweet_Taters via Instagram with #SweetSummer and you’ll be entered for a chance to win.

CONTEST RULES

Snap a sweet summer shot and post via Instagram until May 28th, tag @Sweet_Taters with #SweetSummer and you’ll be entered for a chance to win our

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Sweet Potato #SweetSummer Instagram Contest (“Contest”) is open only to residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Void where prohibited.

Start/End Dates: Contest begins at noon EST on 5/14/15 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on 5/28/15.

Eligibility: Entrants must be legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia and 18 years or older.

The North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensed retailers, wholesalers and the judging panel as well as their immediate families and/or household residents are not eligible to participate. The contest shall only be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and all entrants irrevocably consent to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts over them for such purposes.

How to Enter: You may enter the contest by posting your original photo to Instagram by 11:59 p.m. EST May 28, 2015.

Contest Guidelines: Guidelines for submitting a photo are as follows:

– Your photo must be original, and must not have been previously published or accepted for publication, and must not currently be under consideration for publication.

– Your photo must use the hashtag #SweetSummer and the @sweet_taters handle must be tagged. The photo may demonstrate any food, lifestyle or summer-related photo. The image does not need to have sweet potatoes in it in order to qualify.

– Your photo and caption may not include profanity of any kind.

Winner Selection, Notification and Verification:

On or about May 28, 2015, a winner will be chosen based on photo originality, composition and adherence to the #SweetSummer theme.

Decisions of the judges regarding all aspects of the contest and its administration are final.

Prizes: The following prizes will be awarded.

– A “sweet tater picnic gift basket” which will include sweet potatoes, a custom gingham blanket, recipe book and a $100 gift card

Potential winners will be notified on or about May 30, 2015. Potential winners will be contacted via Instagram. If any potential winner cannot be reached within two (2) days of first notification attempt, if any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if any potential winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Upon forfeiture of any prize no compensation will be given. Limit one (1) prize per person.

All federal, state and local taxes, fees, and surcharges on any prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Conditions:

Acceptance of a prize constitutes the winners’ agreement to release and hold harmless the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission and each of their affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any injuries, losses or damages related in any way to their participation in this promotion and/or acceptance and/or use of a prize, including the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission’s reliance upon their compliance with these rules, and their agreement that the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission may use his or her name, voice, likeness and/or biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media without additional compensation or restriction as to the frequency, territory or duration of such use.
