Here at the North Carolina SweetPotato Commission we know our taters, so we’ll let you in on some tricks. No longer will your efforts turn out to be a sad, limp pile of fries. Just follow the below to sweetpotato fry perfection.

Tip #1:

Soak your sweet taters in cold water for at least an hour, if not overnight. It helps draw the excess starch out which allows them to cook through better to be crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.

Tip #2:

Lightly coat the cut taters in cornstarch before baking. Go ahead and grab a plastic bag. It works!

Tip #3:

For crispier fries, place a metal rack on your baking sheet. Foil works too, but we recommend the rack to get the perfect fries. Take a peek at our friend Love and Lemon’s video to get the full recipe.
