Yardbird Chef Jeff McInnis Does Sweetpotatoes

Executive Chef Jeff McInnis and our very own Sweet Sue
Earlier this month, we hosted a dinner at one of Miami’s hottest restaurants, Yardbird, which specializes in dynamic Southern cooking with fresh, whole ingredients. Excecutive Chef Jeff McInnis created an amazing spread of sweetpotato dishes for a group of Miami food writers. Some dishes introduced new and innovative ways to pair the sweetpotato, like with scallops and snow peas, others, like the twice-baked sweetpotato with chili butter, smoked pecans and black pepper marshmallow creme, took classic pairings to a whole new level. And since a meal in Miami isn’t complete without a cocktail in hand, the group was sippin’ on Yam-hattans all night long. This fabulous cocktail is permanently on the menu so if you’re in the area stop by for some sweetpotato infused bourbon with blanc sweet vermouth, chocolate mole bitters and crushed sweetpotato chips on the rim! A huge thank you to Jason Inasi for his lovely photos!
