FRESH PLAZA REPORTS: GOOD WEATHER MAKES FOR CLEAN SWEETPOTATO CROP
Fresh Plaza journalist Carlos Nunez caught up with our very own Sue Johnson-Langdon to find out a little bit about this year’s stellar sweetpotato crop. Turns out we’ve had some great weather and North Carolina produced high volumes of sweetpotatoes with consistent quality. So proud!
“Although this year’s sweetpotato acreage was 8 percent lower than the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimate at the beginning of the season, favorable weather made up for that”, said Sue Johnson-Langon, executive director of the North Carolina SweetPotato Commission.
