CATEGORY I: CERTIFIED SWEET POTATO SEED
Seed roots that have been field produced by the foundation seed grower. Generations can range from G-2 though G-3.

CATEGORY II: CERTIFIED MICROPROPAGATED VIRUS-INDEXED SEED ROOTS
Seed roots and plants that have been increased in the greenhouse by certified plant growers originating with mother plants from the Micropropagation Unit and have met the inspection and Sweetpotato Feathery Mottle Virus level standards of the NC Crop Improvement Association. Field generations range from G-1 through G-3.

CATEGORY III: CERTIFIED MICROPROPAGATED SWEET POTATO SEED ROOTS
Seed roots and plants that have been increased in the greenhouse by certified plant growers originating with mother plants from the Micropropagation Unit and have met the inspection standards of NC Crop Improvement Association but the Sweetpotato Feathery Mottle Virus levels exceed the % of allowance for that generation. Generations range from G-1 through G-3.
