About Sweet Potatoes

Culinary Education Videos

The North Carolina SweetPotato Commission Foundation is committed to education.
The NCSPCF began its efforts in Culinary Education in 2006 with Johnson & Wales university, Charlotte Campus. The interests of our two organizations dovetailed; J&W sought training for young culinarians about NC sweet potatoes and we were seeking ways to reach the "up and coming culinary decision makers". Through grant funding, we have been able to supplement and broaden our classroom training to now include a four part 30 minute culinary education video that is geared towards culinarians as an educational tool with teachable content, available to all.

The video can be used in several ways. Each of the four stand alone segments can be aired separately as part of other educational materials (refer to the content overview of each segment, i.e. history, nutrition, menuing, problem solving, culinary contests, chef inspired recipes etc.).
Alternatively, all four segments can be played back-to-back with brief comments between segments as part of a regular length class session.

Please let us know how the videos work for your educational situation.
